Spanish authorities say the nurse infected with Ebola has managed to beat the virus after nearly two weeks of treatment in Madrid, and has no traces of it left in her bloodstream.

44 year old Teresa Romero is believed to be the first person to have caught Ebola via transmission outside of West Africa in the current outbreak. She tested positive on October 6th. Romero was among Spain's team of health workers caring for missionary priests in August and September. She touched a glove to her face after leaving the hospital room of Father Miguel Pajares, who died on September 25th after contracting Ebola in Liberia.

Romero remains under quarantine at Madrid's Carlos III hospital. She must undergo another test to make sure she is completely virus free.
