Serena Williams is in the midst of another streak as she begins with 15 consecutive wins at the WTA tournament and is chasing Martina Navratilova's record of 21 straight matches. She would be taking on Ana Ivanovic to start things in off in the Red Group.

Williams came into the finals after injuries forced her out of her previous two outings and following Russian official Shamil Tarpischev's disparaging comments about her and sister Venus. The top-ranked Williams in the far court, was shaky in her opening service game, saving two break points, but still took a 4-1 lead. Ivanovic evened it up, but Williams moves ahead 5-4 with this big serve. The Serb would then double fault to lose the set, one of seven for her in the match.

Now on Williams serve in the second set, and she just manages to get this forehand back, then shows her wheels to chase down the drop shot and hit the winner. That certainly deserves a roar or two, and the fans love it.

Now with two match points on Ivanovic's serve, and the Serb's forehand is long. Williams takes it in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 to improve her head to head record with Ivanovic to 8-1, and she now has won an incredible 16 consecutive matches at the season ending tournament.
