In Hong Kong,a vote on the future direction of the Occupy Central Protests among its supporters, has been postponed by the movement's organizers. Protesters were supposed to vote on whether to remain in the streets or accept government offers for more talks and clear their protest camps.
The announcement came after hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong residents signed up for an Anti-Occupy Central campaign on Saturday. In recent days, an increasing number of people have begun speaking out against the protesters.
Meanwhile Hong Kong SAR's Financial Secretary John Tsang said Sunday that the protests have damaged the economy, government operations and the rule of law. He warned that Hong Kong's long-term political stability will be affected if the protests become the new political paradigm.
