The Los Angeles Lakers held practice in El Segundo, California on Tuesday ahead of their season opener versus the Houston Rockets.

Jeremy Lin #17 of the Los Angeles Lakers is defended by Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors in the first half at Staples Center on October 9, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.

The Lakers could be headed for another rough season after losing a franchise-record 55 games in 2013-14. After the longest offseason of his career, Kobe Bryant is back for his 19th NBA season with the Lakers. Bryrant is 36 and coming off two major injuries which kept the former MVP sidelined for most of last season. Jeremy Lin, the NBA's first American-Taiwanese player, will join Bryant in the Lakers starting lineup for the team's opener. LA acquired the 26-year-old Lin and two draft picks from the Rockets in exchange for the rights to Sergei Lish-chuk over the offseason. Last season, Lin averaged 12.5 points, 4.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds while shooting career-bests from the field and three-pointers for Houston.

"I felt like I could do anything I wanted. My body, game after game, felt good, felt solid. It shouldn't be different just because the regular season starts," Kobe said.

"I'm going to be more like antsy about opening night than it is who I'm going against. Every opening night for every player is kind of like the first day of school back, really, where everything starts to count. So to be honest, we could be playing, I don't know, whoever is projected to be last in the league this year and it would still feel very, very tense and everything," Lin said.
