A 6.8-magnitude quake strikes central Japan

Over in Japan another earthquake has struck a mountainous area near Nagano city, 231 kilometers from Tokyo.

The quake registered at a magnitude of 6.8 while the US Geological Survey said it was magnitude 6.2. So far at least 10 homes were reportedly damaged. The Japan Meteorological Agency ruled out the possibility of a tsunami.

Japan's Kyodo news agency reported about 15 people were treated for injuries at a hospital in the city of Omachi, three of them were seriously injured.
