President Xi Jinping has held talks with Macao’s Chief Executive Chui Sai On and other officials.

During their meeting, President Xi approved Chui’s work as head of the special administrative region in his first five-year term. President Xi said the central government will continue to support Chui and the SAR government’s work after Chui’s inauguration for a second term as the region’s Chief Executive.
Later in the day, President Xi also visited the largest public housing compound in Macao and spoke with local residents.
On Friday evening, President Xi addressed a welcoming dinner held by the SAR government. He said the special administrative region should continue to prosper and endeavour to break new ground under the principle of "one country, two systems".
