The heavy rain that has been lashing much of southern China over the past week looks set to continue.
Weather officials say more severe downpours are expected to hit Jiangxi, Guangxi, and Guizhou, after a week of torrential rain that left eight people dead and three others missing. The deaths all occurred in the hardest hit area, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
In the same region, some 16,000 pigs were drowned at one farm, raising concerns of the spread of disease. Nearly 800,000 people have been affected by the weather in Guangxi. More than 10,000 have already been evacuated from their homes.
China's central meteorological center is continuing to issue a 'yellow alert', warning people to remain cautious in the coming days.
