23-year-old earns second gold in parallel bars for China

On the final day of competition, the Chinese men's team was looking to end a week of disappointment. Helping that cause would be You Hao, who would claim his first gold of the tournament.

His title winning performance would come on the men's parrallel bars. You Hao had the most difficult routine among all the athletes. He scored 16.216 points to take the crown ahead of defending champion Oleg Verniaieve of the Ukraine. It was the 13th time that China won the parallel bars at the worlds. China's Deng Shu'di and Oleg Stepko of Azerbaijan would share bronze after both scored 15.966 points.

On the women's side -- already considered the greatest gymnasts of this generation and possibly ever, all-around champi Simone Biles once again showed her ability to produce winning routines.

She shows incredible poise during a mesmerising balance beam display to cruise past the opposition, sticking the landing earning a score of 15.358, more than a point ahead of Dutchwomen Sanne Wevers.

An hour later she was back to dazzle again on the floor-exercise, performing to Alcica Keys, this girl is on fire. She would garner a score of 15.800 earned her a fourth title in Scotland, Biles hit the magic mark of winning 10 gold medals at the worlds. The 18-year-old American proving that she is head and shoulders above the competition.

Also winning a 10th world championships gold was Japan's Kohei Uchimura. The holder of a record six successive world all-around titles would perform a high-flying routine on the horizontal bar that drew 15.833.

A performance that had the crowd oohing and aahhing with every one of his four release manoeuvres secured him a third gold in Glasgow, taking his overall world medal tally to 19.

Ri Se-gwang would try and earn a gold for the DPRK. And wa sin prime position following this performance, but was not perfect with his landing.

The 30-year-old was also just off on his second attempt as he stumbled when hitting the ground, but because of the high degree of difficulty it did not really dent his average score. His mark of 15.450 edges out Marian Dragulescu by point-zero-five points for gold.
