Russia, Germany win World Cup Nordic skiing sprint relays

Russian Nikolay Morilov and Alexei Petukhov won the men's Nordic skiing World Cup team sprint relay while a German pair triumphed in the women's event in Rybinsk on Sunday.

The Russian pair clocked 14 minutes and 52.2 seconds around the 6x1.3km course to finish just 0.6 seconds ahead of Italian duo Fabio Pasini and Loris Frasnelli.

German Tim Tscharnke and Josef Wenzl were third after crossing the line 5.2 seconds behind the winners.

In the women's event, Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle and Stefanie Boehler of Germany covered the 6x1.3km course in a winning time of 17 minutes and 04.6 seconds.

Slovenian pair of Katja Visnar and Vesna Fabjan were second at 3.9 seconds, and Russian duo of Irina Khazova and Olga Rotcheva were 4.5 seconds behind for the third place.
