Interim Kyrgyz deputy PM flies to Russia for talks
April-9-2010

Almazbek Atambayev, deputy prime minister of the Kyrgyz interim government left on Friday for Moscow to meet Russian officials, the Interfax reported.

Kyrgyz opposition parties claimed to form an interim coalition government on Thursday, while President Kurmanbek Bakiyev refused to step down after clashes that left at least 75 people dead and 1,520 others injured.

The interim government led by former Foreign Minister Roza Otunbayeva would replace the government of Bakiyev, who fled the capital to southern Kyrgyzstan after a day of bloody unrest.
