Extremist throws flare at Chinese consulate
September-26-2010

A Japanese right-winger on Sunday hurled a flare-like object at the Chinese Consulate General in Nagasaki, said Li Bin, a Chinese official from the consulate general.

No one was injured and no damage caused in the incident, Li said, adding that police arrested the man immediately and has begun to conduct investigations.

The incident occurred at 09:25 a.m local time (0025 GMT), according to a Kyodo News report.

The man, who claims to be a member of a private political group, was taking part in a political campaign near the consulate general with other group members, said the report, citing the police.
