Egyptian armed forces announce cabinet reshuffle

New ministers in the Egyptian government were sworn in on Tuesday before head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces Hussein Tantawi, the country's state TV reported.

The first cabinet reshuffle after the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces that took the responsibility to run the country in the six months transition period excluded prominent figures of the National Democratic Party (NDP), but included an opposition member from El Wafd Party as minister of tourism.

The new cabinet consisted of the ministries of scientific research, immigration and manpower, communications, heath, petroleum, social solidarity, trade and industry, tourism and culture.
