China Southern partners with Western Australia

China Hospitality, May 11, 2011

China Southern Airlines and Western Australia recently announced a new partnership agreement in Guangzhou to promote tourism between the two regions.

According to the agreement, China Southern, Tourism Western Australia, and Perth Airport will cooperate in the areas of direct flights, airport services, and tourism promotion — taking advantage of each party's resources, services and network.

Perth is the fourth largest city in Australia, and Perth Airport is also the fourth largest airport in the country, providing flights to Oceania, Asia, Indian Ocean nations, and South Africa. Currently there are no direct flights between China and Western Australia, and most Chinese travelers have to transfer in Hong Kong or Singapore.

China Southern launched a Guangzhou to Brisbane service in November 2010, and now there are 48 flights a week between China and Australia.
