Xinhua, June 30, 2011

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) military on Wednesday warned the south side of an all-out military retaliation for the latter's recent provocations, the official news agency KCNA reported.

According to the KCNA, the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) said a notice was sent to the south side in which it said the S. Korean forces' recent act of hurting the dignity of the leadership of the DPRK is "one more unpardonable hideous provocation and a declaration of a war against the DPRK."

The notice urged the south side to "immediately make apology for the recent provocations, punish the prime movers, remove all the foul slogans and stop reckless provocations at once."

The notice warned that if the south side continues its provocations defiling the dignity of the leadership of the DPRK and its system and army, the DPRK will resolutely counter with "an all-out military retaliation and merciless measures for punishment."

According to the KCNA, the CPRK tried to send the urgent notice to the South Korean authorities through Panmunjom on Wednesday. But the south side did not accept the notice. Under this situation the CPRK decided to open to public the notice addressed to Chongwadae.

It is reported that the Third Infantry Division of the South Korean Fifth Army Corps in the central sector of the front and other units displayed anti-DPRK slogans and placards in forefront areas in recent days.
