The trial of Egypt's ex-president Hosni Mubarak and his two sons resumed on Monday at the Police Academy in Cairo. The trial began at around 10:40 a.m. (0840GMT) Monday. Mubarak lay in bed with his two sons standing by inside a cage at the court. Mubarak was transported to the venue by a plane from the International Medical Center.

Clashes between supporters and opponents of Mubarak erupted outside the academy as the trial started. They threw stones at each other. The three first appeared in court on Aug. 3, with charges of murder and corruption. But they denied all the charges.
