A young woman employee killed herself by jumping from a building at a Foxconn's plant in north China's Shanxi Province Wednesday morning.

The death was confirmed by the local police Thursday.

Li Rongying, a 20-year-old employee at the Foxconn complex in the provincial capital of Taiyuan, jumped off the fourth floor of a workshop at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

A suicide note has been found, which indicated that Li had killed herself over disappointment in a relationship, according to the local police.

Li's relatives have asked for an autopsy.

Foxconn, the world's largest maker of computer components, assembles products for Apple, Sony and Nokia, came under the spotlight last year after a string of suicides of workers at its massive Chinese plants, which some blamed on tough working conditions.

The company currently employs 1.2 million people, with about 1 million of them based on the Chinese mainland.
