A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit eastern Indonesia of East Nusa Tenggara province at 05:32 local time on Saturday (2032 GMT on Friday), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said in Jakarta.
The tremor was centered at 48 kilometers southwest of Manggarai Barat area and at a depth of 124 kilometers under seabed.
However, the agency did not issue a tsunami warning.
Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, head of the Center of Data Information and Public Relation at the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), said there is no casualty or damage due to the earthquake.
"There is no casualty or damage. Weak tremor was felt in the area," Nugroho told Xinhua, adding that it was also felt in Sumbawa Besar regency.
