El Diablo cooks food in volcano

ABC News, March 8, 2012

A restaurant in the Canary Islands, off the coast of northwest Africa, serves food cooked by volcanic heat, ABC News reported.

The name El Diablo Restaurant (the Spanish word for The Devil) fits its characteristic considering what takes place there. In El Diablo, the meat, poultry and fish are grilled using the volcano's geothermal heat. The dormant volcano doesn't spew lava but bursts enough heat or hot vapor to cook dishes.

The manager Julio Padron said the heat reaches “between 450 to 500 degrees Celsius."
