Banned chemicals found in tea

National Business Daily, April 12, 2012

Some 18 name brand tea products have been accused of containing contraband chemicals, according to a latest Greenpeace investigation, National Business Daily reported.

The chemicals, including methomyl, endosulfan and fenvalerate, are highly toxic and are known to jeopardize human reproductive capabilities and fetus growth. But Wuyutai and Zhang Yiyuan, both brands involved in the report, denied the allegation. They told the NBD that their products were safe and "didn't contain the chemicals alleged in the Greenpeace report."
