A branch of U.S. defense-tech giant Lockheed Martin has been inaugurated in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, Al Sharq Al Awsat Newspaper reported Sunday.
King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology signed a partnership agreement with Lockheed Martin aimed at improving Saudi Arabia's defense capabilities, the paper said.
According to the agreement, Lockheed Martin will not only provide training on military and defense expertise for Saudi Arabia, it will also help enhance the technology development of Saudi Arabia through its branch in the country, Dr. Hatim Buhairi from King Abdul Azia City for Science and Technology told the newspaper.
He said that Saudi universities would benefit from the agreement as Lockheed Martin will open it labs to Saudi professors, doctors and researchers.
Lockheed Martin, an U.S. global aerospace, defense, security and advanced technology company, founded in 1995, has 123,000 employees worldwide.
