More than 20 officials from Malta's foreign ministry attended a lecture on Chinese culture on Thursday by the director of the China Culture Center in the Mediterranean country.

The two-hour talk by Gu Hongxing in an EU office building in the capital Valletta focused on the origin of Chinese culture, development and modern status of Chinese culture, and cultural exchanges between China and other nations.

During the lecture, interactive activities, along with an introductory video on China's cultural heritage, were also held.

The officials who attended the lecture were from the Office of Overseas Affairs in Malta's foreign ministry. The office arranged the event to improve their knowledge of Chinese culture and understanding of the Chinese who live and study in Malta.
