U.S. will discuss its global espionage programme with France, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was quoted as saying on Monday in Paris, after France summoned the U.S. ambassador earlier in the day on spy claims.

Calling France as one of "oldest allies," Kerry said U.S. will have bilateral consultations with France to address the question, according to media reports.

France's foreign ministry has summoned the U.S. ambassador Monday over French media's claims that U.S. had spied on millions of phone calls in France.
