Fire, explosion break out at Shell plant in Moerdijk

Huge fire and explosion broke out at the site of the Royal Dutch Shell petrochemical plant in the Dutch city of Moerdijk on Tuesday evening.

Safety authorities in the region said one huge fireball and two big explosions were reported, but no fatalities were reported in the accident.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known.

In 2011, a massive fire ripped through Shell's chemical plant Chemie Pack at the same industrial area, a disaster leading the plant completely destroyed.
