Hong Kong, the world's third biggest comic market after Japan and the US, is set to host the Animation-Comic-Games Expo from July 25th. In the five-day event, Sony and Microsoft slug it out on the gaming scene, hoping to entice younger consumers.

Quite a long, snaking queue it's coming up to be and you can't miss the Cosplayers in here either. It's the first of the five-day Animation, Comic and Games Hong Kong. And not even the searing heat of summer could keep these Cosplayers from dressing up to their favourite anime characters.

As we're just minutes away from the opening ceremony of Ani-Com, right in the world's third biggest comic market after Japan and the U.S. – Hong Kong.

There is just so much fanfare in this event. It's the 14th edition and yet it never fails to draw in fans, in search for anime and collectibles or just wanting to rub elbows with artists big on the local comic scene. But nothing quite compares to the huge reception rivals Microsoft and Sony get from gamers wanting in on the latest game titles and newest consoles –such as the long-awaited X-box One.

"Rival Sony isn't about to be left out. For the first time Sony chose to stage its wares here instead of the usual Asia Game Show, presumably to entice a younger audience," Microsoft Wendy Cheung said.

"If you're not a die-hard gamer nor an anime fan, that's fine. There's enough gadgetry to get curious with, and loads of eye candies one would want to do up a selfie with – just for the heck of it," Jacqualine Chiu, Assistant GM HK & SE Asia, SCEH said.
