Microsoft is launching a smart watch within a few weeks that will have a longer battery life than its major rivals, according to Forbes.

Although its name and retail price are unclear, the smart watch will boast a battery life of more than two days of regular use, Forbes cited sources close to the project as saying.

That will put it ahead of other smart watches such as Samsung's Galaxy Gear and Moto 360, which both need to be charged around once a day. The upcoming Apple Watch also has to be charged every day, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Microsoft's smart watch will also work on different platforms, being able to sync with iPhones, Android devices, and Windows Phones. It can passively track the wearer's heart rate.

Microsoft has declined to comment on the Forbes report.
