A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said on Tuesday that the CPC was ready to enhance cooperation with Montenegro's ruling Democratic Party of the Socialists(DPS), in a move to boost state-to-state relations.
Wang Gang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarksĀ in Beijing when meeting with a delegation of the DPS.
The DPS had made great contributions to the development of China-Montenegro relations, Wang said.
A four-party coalition, led by DPS President and also Montenegro's Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, won Montenegro's parliamentary elections last year.
Wang said the CPC was willing to cement inter-party relations with the DPS, on the principles of independence, complete equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs.
The two countries had enjoyed expanding cooperation and close coordination in international affairs since they formed diplomatic ties in 2006, said Wang, also vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a political advisory body.
The visiting delegation, led by the Party's Vice President and Deputy Speaker of the country's parliament Zeljko Sturanovic, was scheduled to tour China from Feb. 6 to 11.
Newly-appointed Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying also met with the delegation Monday, and the two sides vowed to promote cooperation for mutual benefit.
