European Union (EU) foreign ministers are to meet this week in Spain to examine issues concerning the 27-nation bloc.
The meeting, to be hosted by Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, is slated for Friday and Saturday at Cordoba.
High on the agenda will be such issues as EU policy toward rising political actors in the world and EU contributions toward the Middle East peace process.
The foreign ministers are to discuss Friday how the EU can play a bigger role in forging relations with Brazil, China and India, before touching upon on Saturday how to support U.S. efforts in concluding Mideast peace negotiations.
Host Spain also wants the foreign ministers to take a look at the EU's role in the October elections in Bosnia.
