Senior Chinese legislator meets UNESCAP executive secretary

Chen Zhili, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met here on Friday with Noeleen Heyzer, executive secretary of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

Chen, also the chairperson of the All-China Women's Federation, exchanged views with Heyzer on further communication and cooperation between China and the UNESCAP, and reached consensus on various fields of women's development.

Heyzer was invited by the All-China Women's Federation.

The UNESCAP, established in 1947 and headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, is one of five regional commissions under the UN.
