The TU-95MS aircraft have been followed by two U.S. F-16 fighters during the 17-hour flight toward Aleutian Islands, the ministry said.
The Russian bombers were refuelled in air by an IL-78 tanker, Interfax news agency reported.
Russia's long-range bombers regularly conduct patrol missions over the Arctic, Atlantic, Pacific and the Black Sea.
