Clashes between Mali government forces and rebels in the north of the country have killed 47, the military said Thursday.
Fires breaking out Wednesday in Aguelhok and Tessalit towns bordering Algeria have left 45 rebels and 2 soldiers dead, the armed forces said in a statement.
The government forces fought off attackers from the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad, RFI radio station reported.
