Vice Premier Wang Qishan will visit Brazil from Feb. 10 to 14 to co-host a bilateral high-level meeting, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday.

At the invitation of Brazilian Vice President Michel Temer, Wang will co-host the second meeting of the China-Brazil High-level Coordination and Cooperation Committee, spokesman Liu Weimin said at a regular news briefing.

During his visit, Wang will also meet with President Dilma Rousseff and hold talks with Vice President Michel Temer, Liu said. The first session of the China-Brazil High-level Coordination and Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing in March 2006.

Liu said the two sides will discuss the development of bilateral ties since the first meeting and exchange views on pragmatic cooperation and major international issues of common concern.

Wang and Temer will also hold a joint media briefing and meet with several entrepreneurs from the two nations, according to the spokesman.

"China hopes that the two sides will, through the meeting, proactively implement the consensus reached by heads of state, enhance the high-level committee's mechanism and give full play to the committee in terms of advancing and coordinating cooperation between the two nations," the spokesman said.
