Defense Minister holds talks with Lithuanian counterpart

State Councilor and Defense Minister Liang Guanglie on Tuesday held talks with visiting Lithuanian Minister of National Defence Rasa Jukneviciene, and they exchanged views on relations between the two sides.

Liang said the two countries had expanded cooperation in various areas, and maintained good communication and coordination in international affairs. The two militaries had achieved positive results in mutual visits and staff training in recent years, he said.

The Chinese military attaches importance to developing friendly relations with the Lithuanian military, and is ready to work with the Lithuanian side to strengthen high-level dialogue and explore potential for cooperation, Liang said.

Jukneviciene said it is her first visit to China, and expressed her willingness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
