G8 leaders have refused to kowtow to terrorist hostage-takers by agreeing not to make payment of ransoms, British Prime Minister David Cameron's office said Tuesday.

The world leaders meeting at the G8 summit in Northern Ireland hope that companies would follow suit in refusing to pay for the release of abductees.
