Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Thursday met with former President of the China-Britain Business Council, Lord Charles Powell.

Li said China is deepening its reforms and forging ahead with a new round of opening up. China's development will bring more opportunities for cooperation with other countries, including Britain, he said.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Britain, said Li.

China hopes that the China-Britain relationship will develop along the right track and that more people in Britain who are friendly to China will contribute to developing bilateral ties, Li said.

Powell, who is a member of the House of Lords, said he is willing to continue to boost bilateral friendship and cooperation between Britain and China in areas including infrastructure, finance and energy.
