The United States and Britain have agreed to set up a joint 'cyber squad' to deal with the growing threat of online attacks.

The two countries also agreed to carry out "war game" cyber attacks on each other in order to beef up online defense.

The first exercise will simulate an attack on the financial sector and will take place later this year.

The unprecedented arrangement was announced as President Barack Obama hosted talks with Prime Minister David Cameron at the White House.

The measures come in the wake of recent cyber attacks on Sony Pictures and US Central Command.
