Turkish intelligence warns possible IS attacks

Turkey's National Intelligence Directorate issued a new warning on Friday that a suicide bomber from the Islamic State (IS) may engage in attacks against foreign missions in the country.
Local Daily Sabah reported that the Turkish intelligence made its first warning on Feb. 19 to the police and gendarmerie about possible attacks on foreign missions in Ankara and Istanbul.
This time the intelligence was more specific at its warning and the police has increased the security measures for the foreign missions across the country, Istanbul and Ankara in particular.
The name of the suspect is Mahmoud Abdalla Ahmed al-Hammadi, Daily Sabah quoted the internal memorandum from the Turkish National Police as saying.
The 28-year-old suspect with the United Arab Emirates passport entered Turkey two years ago, the memo said.
It stated that he is frequently changing safe houses in Istanbul where he resides. After the intelligence warning, police launched a manhunt to capture him, Daily Sabah reported.
Turkish intelligence at its previous warnings said the IS militants have crossed the border from Syrian town of Kobane into Turkey planning to attack embassies and consulates in Ankara and Istanbul.
