Villarrica Volcano erupts in southern Chile

A person watches an ash river created by the eruption of the Villarrica Volcano, located at 18km south of Pucon, and 128km southeast of Temuco, Chile, during the early hours of March 3, 2015. The central and regional authorities issued a Red Alert, and informed that the Villarrica Volcano has considerably increased its activity. According to the local press the volcano registered an eruption at 3 a.m. local time, urging the immediate evacuation of 3,385 people.
