State Councilor Yang meets Thai Princess Sirindhorn

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Wednesday met with visiting Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

As a guest of the Chinese government, Princess Sirindhorn is visiting China from Saturday to Friday.

Yang warmly welcomed the princess and expressed appreciation for the Thai royal family's contribution to China-Thailand relations. He said China is willing to further work with Thailand to expand and deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. Yang called on the two sides to take it as an opportunity to push bilateral ties to a higher level.

Princess Sirindhorn expressed gratitude and spoke highly of Thailand-China relations. She said she will help promote bilateral cooperation in culture, education, science and other areas.
