A third suspect detained by Belgian authorities over the Paris terror attacks has been named as Abraimi Lazez, a 39-year-old man of Moroccan descent born in Belgium and living in the Brussels region.

Lazez was arrested in his car in the Brussels district of Laeken on Thursday last week, Belgian public broadcaster RTBF reported Saturday, and a firearm and traces of blood were found inside the vehicle.

Three or four weapons were found at his home in the Brussels district of Molenbeek, and two more in a van belonging to him, the report added.

RTBF said Lazez would appear before a judge on Wednesday. His lawyer, Thomas Descamps, said his client denies the charges of belonging to a terrorist group, taking part in a terrorist attack and bearing arms.

Earlier on Saturday, a source close to the investigation described the third suspect -- who had not been named at that stage -- as a "key figure" in the investigation.

Two other men have been charged in Belgium in connection with the Paris attacks and have had their detention period extended by one month. They are 21-year-old Hamza Attou and 27-year-old Mohammed Amri.

RTBF said the pair had both admitted being in the car that drove prime suspect Salah Abdeslam back to Brussels after the Paris attacks on Nov. 13. Abdeslam remains at large.
