Turkey will regret many times for shooting down the Russian Su-24 fighter jet near the Syrian-Turkish border, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday in his annual State of the Union address to the Federal Assembly.

Accusing the Turkish leadership of supporting terrorism, Putin said Russia is aware of who in Turkey is earning money from illegal oil trade and abetting terrorism.

Meanwhile, the Russian leader noted that Russia considers the Turkish people friendly, and that Moscow has no intention to engage in saber-rattling with Ankara over the downing of Russian jet.

In a signal of imposing more sanctions against Ankara, Putin said Turkey will not just suffer from limitations on agricultural products and construction companies.

Russia has slapped a set of sanction measures on Turkey in response to Ankara's refusal to make any apology for the incident.

Currently, there are no signs of any rapid recuperation of the ties between the two countries.
