A railway line near southern German city of Rosenheim was suspended due to a train accident on Tuesday morning, with around 100 people injured, local police reported on its official twitter account.

The collision of two trains happened in the early monring hours and has caused several carriages to derail. Many passengers were injured, some of whom very seriously, according to German media Focus Online.

A spokesman for German railway company Deutsche Bahn was cited as saying that two trains collided on a single-track section. The cause of the accident is still unclear.

At the moment, all rescue workers of the region are on the way to the scene and several helicopters have been requested.
