The China-Pakistan Rice Import & Export Industry Business Seminar was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing on March 18.

About 75 Chinese companies and organizations took part in the event, apart from the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) delegation led by Noman Sheikh.

The event showcased Pakistani rice variety and various import and export prospects of the staple grain. Pakistan is the homeland of the best long grain white rice produced in the world, according to REAP.

Pakistani Ambassador to China Masood Khalid said that the event was a unique networking and business opportunity for the participating entrepreneurs and businesses. Chinese participants who addressed the seminar included Zhao Guangxue, Vice President of China Agricultural Industry Chamber of Commerce, Bian Zhenhu, President of China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs and Native Produce, Peng Hai, Vice President, China Chamber of Commerce in the Organic Industry Development Committee, and Commercial Counselor Erfa Iqbal.

REAP will also visit Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou this month.
