The AMAN-17 multinational naval exercise came to its conclusion with spectacular sea maneuvers and fleet review on the North Arabian Sea, Pakistan on Feb. 14.

The serials of last day's exercise included replenishment of men and material from one ship to another, Rockets Depth Charge (RDC) firing and surface to surface firing on pre-determined targets as well as aircraft fly-past and ship formation.

At around 11:30 a.m. (Pakistan time), Pak Navy comprehensive supply ship PNS NASR performed the simultaneous refueling of two frigates. The PNS NASR was built at China's Dalian shipyard in 1987. Her name is the Arabic word for "help."

Afterwards, helicopters, battle planes and jet fighters from China, Pakistan, Russia, Japan and Turkey conducted formation flying one by one.

A total of 17 ships representing their respective countries then passed by the PNS NASR, the flagship of the naval drill, in queue to receive a review amid applause from the audience.

Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Shari and Pakistan's Navy Chief Muhammad Zakaullah NI watched the exercise together with observers from the 37 participating countries of Exercise AMAN-17, including China, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and the U.K.

Initiated and organized by Pakistan, the "Aman" exercise (AMAN meaning peace in Urdu) has been held every other year since 2007. China's 24th escort naval fleet took part in the AMAN-17 joint drill with its missile destroyer Harbin, guided-missile frigate Handan and the supply ship Dongpinghu.
