The Auditor General of China Liu Jiayi met with his Pakistani counterpart Rana Assad Amin to discuss further enhancing exchanges in audit domain between the two countries in Beijing on Feb. 27, 2017.

The meeting took place during Rana Assad Amin's official visit to China starting from Feb. 27, 2017.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen the existing contacts and further enhance exchanges in audit domain to learn from each other's best practices. It was further agreed to not only expand bilateral capacity building programs, but also to enhance cooperation at multilateral forums such as the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutes (INFOSAI). An MoU was also signed on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Liu emphasized the need for closer collaboration between the audit institutions of Pakistan and China including at international fora. Liu said that China has always supported Pakistan in line with President Xi Jinping's vision of having good neighbourly relations based on sincerity, inclusiveness and friendship.

Auditor General of Pakistan thanked his Chinese counterpart and expressed hope that his visit will result in further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two sides. He extended an invitation to his Chinese counterpart to visit Pakistan.

Ambassador of Pakistan Masood Khalid welcomed the signing of the MoU describing it as yet another manifestation of ever expanding ties in mutually beneficial domains between the two countries.
