Tajik Emergency Situations Committee will get technical assistance worth almost 12 million U.S. dollars from China, Japan and Russia in the nearest future under framework of a UN project.

Corresponding document was signed, "and in September-October we will begin to get equipment," head of Tajik Emergency Situations Committee Rustam Nazarzoda said on Thursday at a press conference in Dushanbe.

He added that "we will receive technical facilities worth almost 70 million yuan (11 million U.S. dollars) from China and Japan will provide assistance worth about 500,000 dollars."

Russia is going to provide technical assistance worth 460,000 U.S. dollars until October as well.

More than 100,000 people live in danger areas in Tajikistan. Since the beginning of the year, 27 people have died in the result of natural disasters in the country, he said.

Nazarzoda highlighted that the committee is currently unable to maintain and operate helicopters for all of its departments.

So far, 284 areas are considered to be extremely dangerous for human habitation in Tajikistan.
