Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on Sunday chaired a rehearsal of activities of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week in central Da Nang city.

Scenarios for activities of the president, including the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, the APEC Business Summit, the dialogue between APEC economic leaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council, an official welcome ceremony and banquet, and international press conferences were rehearsed at scheduled venues, Vietnam News Agency reported.

He also inspected venues for bilateral high-level meetings and activities for spouses of APEC leaders.

Hotels, convention centers, international media center, and other major venues have so far been ready for the event. The international media center opened on Saturday.

Due to complicated security developments in the region and the world, particularly Southeast Asia, the Vietnamese president asked relevant agencies to beef up security measures and complete plans in case of contingency cases.

Some 10,000 delegates, including leaders of 21 APEC member economies, over 2,000 leading corporate executives and nearly 3,000 reporters are expected to attend the week slated for Nov. 6-11.
