Houston mayor sends New Year greetings to Chinese community

Mayor of U.S. city of Houston Sylvester Turner sent New Year greetings to the Chinese community in the city on Friday on the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Attending a celebration event by local Chinese community, Turner said the Chinese community in Houston has made huge contributions to the development of the city and the relations between the United States and China.

"Houston is the most diverse city in the United States. But we can't just be diverse, we have to be inclusive. You will see the diversity reflected among the decision making," Turner said to Chinese community leaders.

Chinese Consul General Li Qiangmin and Chinese community leaders participated in the event.
