He also urged the two sides to expand win-win cooperation and break new ground for common development and prosperity under the Belt and Road Initiative; to take active measures to stick to free trade and construct an open world economy to show their commitment to promoting world development; and to promote bilateral exchanges and bonds between peoples of the two countries.

Song also called on the ruling parties of the two countries to further bring into play their political leading role for developing bilateral ties, and to enhance strategic communications, boost political trust, create cooperation platforms and guide public opinion to jointly create a new era for bilateral ties.

Toshihiro Nikai, secretary general of the LDP and Yoshihisa Inoue, vice head of the Komeito Party, spoke highly of the important role played by the ruling party exchange mechanism in developing bilateral ties, and said that they are willing to enhance communication and cooperation with China to promote all-round improvement and faster development of bilateral ties.

During the talks from Oct. 10 to Oct. 12, the two sides also had frank and in-depth talks on promoting political mutual trust and practical cooperation and approved a mutual initiative.
