Tunisia and France on Monday signed three bilateral cooperation conventions worth 49 million euros (56.2 million U.S. dollars).

The three conventions, covering technology, culture and heritage preservation, youth and employment, were signed by visiting French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed.

"The partnership between France and Tunisia is increasingly fruitful and constructive," said Le Drian, reiterating his country's commitment to supporting Tunisia in its fight against terrorism and irregular immigration.

According to the Tunisian government, the visit is part of the commitments made during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Tunisia in February.
