China's top legislature on Friday approved two treaties between China and Grenada, one on extradition and the other on criminal judicial assistance.

The 22-article extradition treaty covers issues including extradition obligations, offenses eligible for extradition, reasons that can and should be used to reject extradition, and the settlement of disputes, among others.

The other treaty stipulates conditions where the two sides should engage in criminal judicial assistance, evidence retrieval, witness testifying procedures and transfer of detained suspects, among others.

The ratification of the two treaties is conducive to strengthening judicial cooperation between China and Grenada and will promote the development of bilateral ties, Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou said when briefing lawmakers on the treaties.
